3 Eastern Fleet Ships Arrive in Thailand To Boost Naval Ties

Visakhapatnam: Three frontline warships of Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet (INS Udaygiri, INS Kavaratti and INS Shakti) have arrived in Sattahip, Thailand, as part of their operational deployment in Southeast Asia, strengthening India’s maritime relationship with its regional partners.

The visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral maritime cooperation and strengthening the long-standing maritime relationship between India and Thailand.

The Eastern Fleet contingent is led by Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Fleet. On arrival, the ships were warmly welcomed by the Royal Thai Navy, reflecting the growing defense ties between the two countries.

The Indian Navy said the deployment demonstrates India’s continued commitment to promoting maritime security, regional stability and stronger partnerships with Southeast Asian countries. It also underlines the importance of defense diplomacy in advancing cooperation with friendly maritime neighbours.

The deployment provides an opportunity to showcase India’s indigenous shipbuilding capabilities. The three warships reflect the country’s advances in unique design, modular construction and cutting-edge naval technology.

According to the defense ministry, the visit underlines India’s identity as a reliable partner in defense technology and maritime cooperation.
