3rd Corps of EME Sailing Regatta concludes in Hyderabad

The third edition of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) Sailing Race 2026 concluded at Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of the College of Military Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) and Commodore of the EME Sailing Association (EMESA).
Addressing the participants and guests, Lieutenant General Varshney stated that the regatta was designed to revitalize and strengthen sailing as a competitive sport within the EME Union and create a large pool of talented sailors who can compete at national, Asian and Olympic levels. He praised the enthusiastic participation of staff from various ranks, especially Agniveers, noting that many of them demonstrated extraordinary talent by mastering the sport in just two to three weeks.
“The race will serve as a stepping stone for sailors who want to participate in important events such as the ILCA Open Sailing Competition and Hyderabad Sailing Week,” he added.
In the ILCA-6 category, Agniveer Patil Anuraj won the first place, Sepoy Mahesh took the second place and Agniveer Patil Siddhesh took the third place. In the ILCA-7 category, Agniveer Harsh Tiwari became the champion, Lieutenant Colonel Mayank Srivastav came second and Major Lanka Kiran came third. Southern Command was awarded the overall championship award.
