4.18 lakh students set to appear for SSLC, 4.52 lakh for Plus Two exams in Kerala

As many as 4,18,516 students have registered for the SSLC (Class 10) exams, which are scheduled to begin in Kerala on Thursday, March 5, General Education Minister V. Sivankutty said.

In a press conference held in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, the Minister said that 4,17,497 students have registered for the exams in 3,031 centers in Kerala, 633 students in seven centers in the Gulf and 386 students in nine centers in Lakshadweep.

Approximately 26,000 teachers will participate in the supervision work. As many as 72 evaluation camps will be held from April 7 to April 28 to evaluate the answer texts. The Minister said that the SSLC exam results will be declared in the third week of May.

HSE exams

Plus One higher secondary/vocational higher secondary education exams (HSE/VHSE) will start on Thursday, and Plus Two HSE/VHSE exams will start on Friday, 6 March.

As many as 4,11,025 students will appear for Plus One higher secondary exams and 3,41,222 students will appear for Plus One developmental exams.

As many as 4,52,437 students will appear for the Plus Two secondary examinations.

There will be 1,984 exam centers for Plus One and Plus Two HSS exams; of these, 1,966 will be in Kerala, seven in Gulf, nine in Lakshadweep and two in Mahe. Approximately 29,000 teachers will serve in supervisory roles.

Evaluation of response scenarios will be carried out in 89 evaluation camps starting from April 6. The results are expected to be announced on May 22.

VHSE exams

In the regular category, 26,829 students will take the Plus One VHSE exams and 26,826 students will take the Plus Two VHSE exams.

Exams will be held in 389 centers and 3,700 people will be assigned for exam duty.

Valuation will be carried out in eight centers starting from April 6.

Exam question papers reached 41 district national education directorates and were transferred to bank/treasury vaults after being classified.

Introduction to Plus One

Once the SSLC results are declared, online applications for admission to Plus One higher secondary education for the academic year 2026-27 can be made from the very next day.

The number of places available will be the same as this academic year. The majority of seats will be filled in three rounds of the main allocation phase to begin Plus One classes. Last year, classes started on June 18.

After the main allocation phase, new applications will be invited for additional allocation in order to fill the remaining vacancies and complete the admission procedure within a certain period of time.

The Minister said further education opportunities will be provided to all students who pass the SSLC exams.
