Armed police race to Edinburgh neighbourhood where knifeman seen brandishing two weapons

Armed police descended on an Edinburgh neighborhood after a man was seen brandishing two large knives.
Footage shared on social media showed a man holding a gun in each hand in Calder, in the west of the city.
Neighbors say several people may have been stabbed and a local shop was ransacked and an emergency response had been underway since 9am.
Police said two people were injured and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
William Ramsay, who lives in the area, said he believed the gunman entered the stairwell of the building.
He said: ‘Smashed up a local shop, possibly stabbing two people who cannot be confirmed.
‘Armed police, dogs have been here for about two hours.’
Photos taken from the scene show at least six police vehicles, a block of flats and armed police officers outside Cobbinshaw House.

A statement from Police Scotland said: ‘Following reports of an armed man with a knife, people are advised to stay away from the Calder area of Edinburgh.
‘Police, including firearms officers, are at the scene.’
Lothian Buses said its number 20 service would be removed from Calder until further notice.
