4.39 lakh Plus One seats available

As many as 4,39,184 seats are available for Plus One single-window entries this year.

As many as 4,10,456 students became eligible for higher education.

Submission of Plus One applications began on Monday. The deadline for applications is June 3. Trial distribution will be held on June 8. The first quota will be published on June 15, the second quota will be published on June 22, and the third quota will be published on June 29.

After 3 quotas in the main stage are completed on July 1, Plus One classes will start on July 2. Last year, classes started on June 18.

After the main phase of allocations, applications will be invited again for additional allocations to fill the remaining seats.

The additional allocation will take place between July 13 and August 5, the date on which Plus One admission procedures will be completed.

Students can gain admission to 45 subject combinations across Science, Commerce and Humanities groups.

Some 2,220 applications were received on Monday. These applications to government and aided schools were approved online. Login details were created for more than 11,600 candidates, but online confirmations were not made by any of them.

Of the total applications approved online, 2,098 were from students who had completed SSLC, 98 from CBSE students, 12 from ICSE students and 12 from students of other educational boards.

The highest number of applications came from Palakkad-313 and the least from Wayanad-29.

As many as four MRS applications were also verified, while login information for 885 candidates was created.

The government on Monday issued orders to continue provisional batches approved and shifted in previous years and allow marginal increase in seats at the beginning of the admission process.

In Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts, marginal seat increase of 30% was allowed in government high schools and 20% marginal seat increase in aided schools. Additional sanctions of 10% may be imposed on supported schools upon request.

A 20% marginal increase in seats will be allowed in government and aided schools in Kollam and Thrissur districts.

In Ambalapuzha and Cherthala taluks of Alappuzha district, marginal increase in seats of 20% was allowed in government and aided secondary schools, while in Ernakulam, the same increase was allowed in all government and aided schools in five taluks except Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha.

All 313 additional groups that continue in the 2025-26 academic year, except one of the temporary additional groups approved in 2021, 2023 and 2024, will continue this year.

It was learned that the 38 shifted parties will continue.

Accordingly, there are 1,92,181 Plus One quotas in public schools; 1,92,159 quotas in aided schools; 49,800 in unaided school; 946 seats in private schools; 1,568 seats in model boarding schools; and 2,530 in technical schools.

In Malappuram, the total number of seats reached 77,865. As many as 79,083 students were eligible for higher education in the region. Palakkad has 35,352 seats available (38,164 students have passed SSLC), while Kozhikode has 42,892 seats available (42,770 students have passed SSLC).
