492 Motorists Booked in Drunken Driving Drive in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Hyderabad traffic police organized a two-day special drive against drunk driving to ensure road safety. As many as 492 drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol during the special drive.
Of these, 412 were bicycle drivers, 29 were three-wheeler drivers and 51 were four-wheeler drivers and other vehicle drivers. The drive took place between 20 and 21 February.
Drivers recorded levels of 30-50 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) in 109 cases, 51-100 in 205 cases and 101-150 in 97 cases. Drivers recorded BAC levels of 151-200 in 47 cases, 201-250 in 19 cases, 251-300 in four cases and over 300 in 11 cases.
Traffic police reiterated that there will be zero tolerance for drunk driving and driving violations. Such special enforcement practices will continue in the name of public safety. Passengers are asked to cooperate with the Traffic Police and avoid drunk driving.
