4BC Breakfast host Peter Fegan won’t be back after ratings dip
“It’s been a great week. Like I always say, I love waking up with you every morning.
“That’s why I get up and love this job so much. Because I get to talk to you and spend every morning with you.”
4BC Breakfast Presenter Peter Fegan signed off Friday morning by telling listeners to fend for themselves and that he would be back as usual at 5.30am on Monday.

“As I like to say: Be well, Brissie,” he said. “Then I’ll catch you.”
About an hour later, staff received an email informing them that Fegan was ending 4BC and that interim hosts would air the show for the rest of the year.
Fegan has been hosting the breakfast timeslot since the departures of Laurel Edwards, Gary Clare and Mark Hine in late 2024. He previously hosted 4BC Weekends and worked as a reporter for Nine Queensland.

This move comes after the show’s ratings dropped and its audience share dropped from 4.1 percent to 3.6 percent. The station’s overall share increased to 5.3 percent from the previous 4.8 percent.
Content manager Siobhain McDonnell thanked Fegan for her time in an email to staff. 4BC Breakfast and “for bringing a stunning NRL season to live coverage with his passion and enthusiasm for his beloved Broncos”.
