Police in Fall River, Massachusetts, arrested five people after a street raid involving at least 50-100 people over the weekend.

The illegal street seizure took place Sunday from 3:15 to 6 p.m., when 50 to 100 people on dirt bikes, scooters, ATVs and motorcycles gathered on streets across the city, the Fall River Police Department wrote in a news release. According to police, the group “disregards traffic laws while performing reckless demonstrations, risking not only their own lives but also the lives of innocent, law-abiding motorists and pedestrians.”

Police said the gathering posed a “significant safety concern for the public,” adding that “these were not just cyclists peacefully enjoying a lawful ride in our city.”

“These are chaotic groups that block the streets, operate recklessly and prevent those around them from traveling safely,” police added.
