5 Motors Attached to Pipelines Seized

Hyderabad: Vigilance officials from Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) seized five engines illegally connected to water pipelines in Uppal district on Thursday.
The inspections were carried out during water supply hours in Gokulnagar and Nageshnagar under Ramanthapur district. Authorities identified consumers who directly connected electric motors to taps and pipelines to draw water and seized the motors.
The Water Board said installing a motor in a pipeline affects water pressure and interrupts the flow of water to nearby households. Authorities have warned that action will be taken against consumers who are found to be driving in violation of Water Board rules.
According to the authorities, consumers who are caught for the second time will be fined 5 thousand liras and a lawsuit will be filed against them.
The board asked residents not to connect motors to faucets or pipelines. Consumers experiencing low water pressure or other supply issues are advised to contact the appropriate local managers, deputy general managers or general managers.
Complaints can also be registered through the Water Board customer service number 155313, officials said.
