Melania Trump’s public behaviour decoded – we fill gaps to understand | US | News

Few people face as much scrutiny and scrutiny as the First Lady of the United States, especially following the release of Amazon’s recent self-titled biopic.
But much of the public’s interpretation of his demeanor is wrong, according to a psychotherapist and trust expert.
Over the years, observers have focused on his reserved demeanor; they often perceived his typically neutral, seemingly distant expression as restlessness, melancholy, or detachment.
However, behavioral expert Shelly Dar suggests this may simply represent Melania setting strict boundaries in front of viewers.
“When we analyze Melania Trump, she may seem upset or worried, but we actually see that she is in control of herself,” Dar explains. Mirror USA.
“Her public presence is very controlled, impartial and deliberate. As First Lady, this restriction becomes even tighter due to pressure, and the cost of mistakes is very high.”
Melania Trump’s public persona is characterized by limited facial movement, infrequent gestures, and an always neutral stance.
Dar observes that Melania’s restrained facial expressions and economical gestures typically lead to her being perceived as “angry, cold, or irritated” rather than what he describes as a deliberate absence of visible warmth.
“When warmth is not visible, people project sadness onto it,” Dar explains.
“Psychologically, body language does not convey any emotion, it expresses boundaries. It does not show emotions for comfort, something we are used to in the Western world.”
It also highlights how first ladies in American and more generally Western political contexts typically reflect contrasting qualities by displaying warmth and accessibility.
“In a culture that expects First Ladies to appear warm, charming and relaxed, a lack of emotional display is easy to misread,” Dar says.
“When expression is limited, people tend to fill in the gaps themselves; they often project anger or unhappiness where there is control.
“He operates on a global stage, speaks publicly only when he has to, and communicates in a second language where every word is analyzed,” says Dar. “This level of scrutiny naturally leads to a careful, rehearsed presentation and a more guarded presence.”
Melania’s body language conveys boundaries and certainty rather than emotional transparency, “which can be jarring to viewers trying to decipher it,” Dar explains.
When Melania comes Donald TrumpBut Dar observes that her demeanor is becoming increasingly restrained: “In solo appearances, she appears calmer; her posture and tempo feel more steady and more deliberate. When she is around her husband, her body language often becomes tense, moving less, showing more detachment, which may signal role management rather than relational comfort.”
“He seems more self-possessed alone and more cautious around her, indicating deliberate role separation rather than emotional detachment.”
