6 Andhra Fishermen Rescued After Boat Capsizes Off Karnataka Coast

Karngaluru (Karnataka): Six fishermen from Andhra Pradesh were rescued after their fishing boat capsized in rough seas off Surathkal coast on the outskirts of Mangaluru, officials said. They said the boat, which set out for fishing from Malpe port in Udupi district on Friday morning, was carrying six fishermen from Andhra Pradesh.
Officials said that the ship hit strong waves during fishing activities, causing the ship to lose control and overturn.
According to officials, all six fishermen were thrown overboard. However, local fishermen in the area were alerted and a rescue operation was immediately launched and successfully pulled everyone to safety.
Coast police officials stated that there was no loss of life or serious injury in the incident.
Authorities announced that a monsoon fishing ban for motorized boats remains in effect, but smaller traditional boats are allowed to be used in shallow waters.
