TJPW: Yuki Arai retains Princess of Princess title, stops J-Rod’s historic bid

LAS VEGAS – Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling showcased women’s professional wrestling at the Pearl Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Thursday afternoon as part of Slam Fest.
And don’t be fooled; Even though Joshi’s women entered the ring in sparkling and elaborate outfits, the wrestlers hit as hard as anyone.
J-Rod learned this the hard way when he challenged Yuki Arai for the Princess Championship.

J-Rod was hoping to become the first American to win the title. Known as “Girl Genius”, Arai initially felt the pain J-Rod could bring to the ring.
J-Rod continued to push Arai to this point, seemingly implying that he would easily win the match because he was bigger and stronger. Arai used his quickness and agility to move around J-Rod. Arai’s sharpshooter was J-Rod, but “The Ultimate Athlete” would emerge.
Arai even took a spear from J-Rod and tried to pin him. But after a near fall, J-Rod’s frustration began to mount.
“What more do I need to do?” he shouted to the crowd. “There is no way to remain champion.”
Arai attacked from there. He dodged another spear from J-Rod and hit him with a full Nelson. He pinned J-Rod for the win to retain the Princess Princess Championship.

“Thank you for today,” Yuki said. “I’m so glad I beat you. J, I love you. Okay?”
J-Rod took the microphone from Arai and vowed to return.
“I underestimated you, Yuki. You earned my respect tonight, and I love you too,” J-Rod said.
There were no championship changes on the card.
Las Vegas crowds had the opportunity to see familiar faces in action at The IInspiration. Cassie Lee and Billie McKay defended the Princess Tag Championship against former champions Shoko Nakajima and Hyper Misao.
Although The IInspiration continued with their usual antics, they used teamwork to keep Misao at bay while they worked on Nakajima. Lee hit Nakajima with the code breaker and pinned him for the win.

Miyu Yamashita took part in a special trios match against Mizuki and Miu Watanabe. Mizuki and Watanabe’s high-flying style emerged early in the match, as Yamashita showed off the brute strength that has made him one of the most dangerous Japanese professional wrestlers in the industry.
Watanabe nailed Yamashita with a Meteora off the ramp early in the match. However, Watanabe and Mizuki were ultimately no match for Yamashita.

Yamashita would pin Watanabe to take the victory.
Other results included Suzume retaining the International Princess Championship against Sakura Hattoari, Yuki Kamifuku, and Wakana Uehara, also known as Ober Eats, defeating Toga and Uta Takimi, and Raku, Pom Harajuku, and Yuki Aing defeating Alexis Lee, Shino Suzuki, and Himawari.
