62,96 Lakh Cases Disposed of in Telangana in 2025

Hyderabad: According to the Ministry of Law and Justice, as many as 62,96,540 pending and pre-trial cases were resolved through Lok Adalats in Telangana in 2025.
Of the total 62,96,540 cases, about 35,11,386 were related to pre-trial cases and 27,85,154 were related to ongoing cases. More than 1,245 cases were concluded through mediation in 2025. Most cases were concluded in 2024.
A large number of 1,47,57,119 cases, including pending and pre-trial cases, were resolved through Lok Adalats in 2024. The ministry said that around 11,424 people received legal assistance from legal services clinics in the 2025-26 period until November 2025.
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is a statutory body established under the Legal Services Authorities (LSA) Act 1987. NALSA regularly holds review meetings with State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs) to assess the impact of legal aid services.
Simultaneously, all-India meetings of legal services officials are being held to assess the overall functioning of legal services institutions. During these meetings, officials from State and Territory Legal Service Authorities provide valuable feedback on the effectiveness of legal aid services.
The Central government is implementing a Central Sector Scheme, Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS) Program across the Country, including Telangana, through NALSA to provide free legal aid in criminal matters to eligible beneficiaries under Section 12 of the LSA Act, 1987.
As of December 30, 2025, Legal Aid Defense Assistance Counsel (LADC) offices operate with 141 full-time Defense Counsel in 33 districts of Telangana State to provide specialized legal representation from the initial stages of criminal cases to the appellate stage.
This was stated by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal in the Lok Sabha on Friday while replying to a question asked by BJP MP Arvind Dharmapuri about legal aid services and access to justice in Telangana.
