7 TTD Officials, 5 Dairy Experts Arraigned In Ghee Adulteration Case

What are you doing? An arrest note filed by investigators with new names in the SPE and ACB Court in Nellore on Friday has expanded the Tirumala laddu ghee adulteration investigation.

The CBI-led special investigation team has named seven TTD employees and five external dairy experts as new accused. The alleged fraudulent deals were stated to involve hundreds of millions of rupees.

The SIT, which examined the administrative and technical permissions given for the purchase of oil, informed the court that 12 persons were listed as accused from A-25 to A-36.

Their inclusion follows a review of how certain dairies achieved compliance despite failing to meet technical norms. Coordination between TTD officials and external experts played a key role in supplying around 68 lakh kg of adulterated ghee to TTD, the note said.

The statement alleges that external experts responsible for factory inspections provided positive or misleading assessments of many private dairies. Based on these, dairies signed ghee supply contracts.

Those mentioned include Dr M Mahender, Dr V Venkata Subramanian, M Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy, Dr B Surendranath and Dr K Jayaraj Rao. SIT noted that its reports had helped some dairies qualify for contracts worth hundreds of crores.

The SIT investigation points to a similar structure within the TTD’s own ranks. The seven staff members currently in court are Bhole Baba Organic Dairy Products, Sri Vyshnavi Dairy Products, Malganga Dairy Products, AR Dairy Foods, Premier Agri Foods etc. He is accused of abusing his positions to support bidders affiliated with .

Those named include former general managers (Supply) RSSVR Subrahmanyam and P Murali Krishna, former warehouse vice president P Venkata Natesh Babu, former Goshala director Dr K Haranath Reddy, executive engineer P Jagadeeswara Reddy, assistant assistant P Eswar Reddy and senior assistant M Venkata Anil Kumar.

Their actions enabled technically unskilled firms to secure contracts worth several hundred crores, the statement said.
