7yo girl dead in Queensland drowning tragedy

A seven-year-old girl drowned in a school holiday tragedy in Queensland.

The young girl was last seen swimming at Colleges Crossing in Chuwar, about 38 kilometers southwest of Brisbane, at around 5pm on Saturday.

His disappearance triggered a major emergency response, with Polair and police divers joining the search.

The girl’s body was pulled from the water shortly before 10:30 p.m.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
