Fare integration is the future forward

As Cumta emerged with a common digital ticketing mechanism, transportation activists insist that a common wage mechanism will be more attractive for vehicles to use public transport. Sivasubramaniam Jayaraman from the Institute of Transport and Development Policy (ITDP) says that digital transactions are the future and Cumta has developed a common ticketing mechanism, wage integration forward.
Transportation activists say that the wage structure for all public transportation modes is based on minor changes reflecting passenger opportunities. Therefore, a common wage mechanism should be placed in order for vehicles to use public transport for longer travel in different modes.
Cumta Member Secretary I. Jeyakumar, the first stage of the joint ticketing project Metro Rail, suburban trains and MTC buses are moderate integration and the last stage will be made fee integration, he said. He adds that the future is not too advanced for vehicles to travel smoothly using Cumta’s integrated ticketing application.
