In the midst of the quota line, an unidentified person flared up an OBC activist’s car in Jalna, Maharashtra.

CCTV images showed that OBC activist Navnath Waghmare poured a bottle of liquid into the parked car of Waghmare, and then set fire on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in the Neelam Nagar region at 22.00.

The top of the vehicle was damaged before running there and extinguishing the flames.

Later, Mr. Waghmare, who spoke to the media, claimed that the action was carried out by supporters of Maratha booking activist Manoj Jarange, who lives in the village of Antarwali Saratii in the Jalna region of the action.

Mr. Waghmare complained to the ancient Jalna Police Station.

An official, the police, said that he had imposed a lawsuit against an unidentified person and examined CCTV images for an investigation.

In particular, Mr. Waghmare and other OBC activists oppose the reservations of Maratha community members under the category of other retrospective classes.

“My car was deliberately set on fire. Residents helped to save the fire before spreading. Mr. Waghmare said.

He claimed the role of Mr. Jararange’s supporters in the incident and asked the police to act against them.

The Jalna region has become a glare point in the ongoing struggle between the reservations between Maratha, Obc, Dhang and Banjara communities.

The OBC activists strongly opposed the implementation of the Haydarabad Newspaper to give Kunbi caste certificates to Marathhas in the Marathwada region, thus making them suitable for OBC quota advantages.

They claimed that the planned castes (SC), planned tribes (ST) and other retrospective classes existing will reduce opportunities for the extension of OBC status to Marathas.

Last week, Banjara community members held a protest to be included in the ST category.

Currently, Banjaras benefits from 3% quota within the scope of the Vimukta Jati and nomadic tribes (VJNT) segment. Dhangar activist Dipak Borhade organizes a rapid death in Jalna for the last six days and demands ST status for the community.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, he defended the vocal critic of Mr. Jararange, GunRatan Sadavarte, and visited Jalna to support Mr. Borhade.

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the protesters tried to attack the lawyer Sadavarte car in Jalna.

Mr. Jararange pioneered protests and demanded the reservation of the Maratha community under the Obc category and observed fasting many times.

On the other hand, the state government issued a decision (GR) in the implementation of the Hyderabad Newspaper to accelerate the giving of Kunbi (Obc Kast) certificates to the Kunbi caste from the Marathwada region at the beginning of this month.
