Forest Staff Bid Goodbye To Orphaned Elephant Calf Priyanshi As She Begins A New Journey
BHUBANESWAR: The elephant calf, which has been under tender care in the Boudh range of the Odisha Forest Department since 13 September, was shifted to the elephant rescue center in Kapilash in the Dhenganical Region on Friday. Many of them became deep emotional for forest staff who grew due to the calf during the short but unforgettable accommodation.
Priyanshi, who was rescued from a channel at the beginning of this month after he was devoted from his herd, returned to health by forest officials who provided appropriate food, water and veterinarian care. In this process, it became a part of their daily lives, captivated them with innocence and playful nature.
When the authorities cried to search for her mother, they remembered that she treated her like their own children. “He stayed with me for about 15 days and looked at him like my daughter. It is painful to see his permission, but he should continue his life. We called Piyanshi of love.
The guards also shared their grief. A personnel, “always answered in the name of the name. I often came to play with him. Learning is painful, but now requires better care,” he said.
The journey of Piyanshi began when he and his mother deviated from Panchadhara Hills to Kusmakuhuri village. The calf accidentally fell into a channel and rescued by the locals and surrendered to the forest department, although his mother rejected her after reunite. Since then, he was under the care of the Boudh officials who had established a strong bond before he left with him.
While the Piyanshi Kapilash Rehabilitation Center begins a new section, the caregivers remain hopeful that the small elephant will develop in the new environment and one day will find their own family.
