The earthquake took place on October 1, 2025 at the 03:01:06 Indian Standard Clock (IST).
According to the data shared by NCS ‘X’ (formerly twitter), the earthquake was found at 22.94 degrees N and longitude at 93.86 degrees E with a focus depth of 80 km.
Watching a stronger earthquake on Tuesday
This latest Tremor is followed by a significant more powerful earthquake that hit Myanmar on Tuesday (September 30th).
NCS reported that the earthquake of the previous day was 4.7 magnitude and occurred at 06:10:01 AM IST. This earthquake was 24.73 degrees N and longitude at 94.63 degrees E. In a significant way, the depth of the size of 4.7 was shallow, only at only 15 km, which often resulted in a more pronounced surface level shake and increased the likelihood of aftershocks.
Myanmar is located along a highly active seismic zone between the four tectonic plates, which is often prone to earthquakes.
Information about the main tremor
The National Seismology Center (NCS) detected the seismic movement and took place on Tuesday, September 30 at 6:10.
In short, seismic activity in the region
The earthquake of 4.7 is the largest of seismic activities in India and neighboring countries and emphasizes the high geological instability of the region.
