International students left in limbo by UCL after university exceeds visa allocations | International students

Hundreds of international students, universities, universities, who have accepted the lessons of London, admitted that many of them fled only days before they started, and stayed in the limo and met thousands of pounds.

Only 200 students from China were influenced by overcoming visa allocation for the next academic year, and the university initially told students that they should postpone their work until 2026.

Speaking with Guardian, a few students said that after being accepted by UCL, they spent thousands of pounds on travel, application fees and accommodation areas in London.

The students said that the UCL had contacted them two weeks ago to say that they could not give the approval of the acceptance (CAS) for the studies required for student visa applications from the home office.

A student who was already in the UK at the beginning of the term said he was expected to be deported without a student visa, one by one by UCL personnel, including a remote learning proposal, including a decision to the end of this week, he said.

A Chinese student who wanted to stay anonymous said: “myself and countless others have visited the challenging application process precisely and carefully. We encountered every final date, presented every necessary document, and despite everything, we secured our unconditional offers before the beginning of the period.

“We are the model applicants that any university will be proud to be welcomed. However, instead of preparing for our work, we pay a corporate failure price that we cannot foresee or prevent it now.”

UCL spokesman said: ık We have experienced more applications and bids than expected, and as a result, we have exceeded the approval of the number of studies allocated by the home office (CAS). Uz We are urgently working with the home office to secure additional CAS numbers and we do everything we can to solve it as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, we communicate directly with the affected students to explain the situation, present our sincere apologies and provide support to the postponement option until next year.

“We also know that some of our recent communications cause confusion and uncertainty and we are sincerely upset for it.”

The Ministry of Interior refused to comment on the case of UCL’s case, but a spokesman said: “Managing the adoption of research allocation is the responsibility of the institutions themselves, not the internal office.

“In summary, we expect to take a closer look at visa rejection rates and student records to ensure proper use of CAS allocation of all universities.

“Additional CAS allocation demands are evaluated in line with the guidance of sponsorship – the reasons for the sponsors, their home office requirements and their general past.”

Universities should apply to the home office every year for CAS allocation with an estimation that each international students expect to accept.

More than half of 52,000 students of UCL are from abroad, approximately 14,000 are from Motherland from China.

Some Chinese students said they asked for help from the Chinese Foreign Ministry. For a comment, China’s Embassy in London was contacted.
