Tennessee to execute first woman in 200+ years, Christa Pike set for 2026

Tennessee, Tennessee’s only woman during the death of Christa Gail Pike for determining the date of execution, after the first two centuries of a woman is preparing to carry out for the first time in two centuries.
According to the documents seen by Fox News Digital, the province of Tennessee made a movement on September 30 to determine an executive date for 49 -year -old Pike. It is planned to be executed on 30 September 2026.
If the execution persists, Pike seems to be the first woman executed in Tennessee since 1820, and it seems only fourth in the state history.

Pike was 18 years old when 19 -year -old Colleen Slemmer in Knoxville performed 1995 torture and murder.
Both women were at Knoxville Job Corps, a career training program that Slemmer thought he was interested in when Pike began to go out with 17 -year -old Tadaryl Shipp.
Pike, Shipp and another friend pulled Slemmer to the forest near Tennessee University Agricultural Campus on January 12, 1995.
The court records show that Pike cut Slemmer’s throat with a box cutter, hit her with a balcony, carved a pentagram on her chest and crushed her skull with a piece of asphalt.
Pike then held a part of Slemmer’s skull as a trophy and showed it to his classmates.

In 1996, a jury convicted Pike for the first -degree murder and sentenced him to death.
While Shipp took life with the possibility of conditional evacuation, he witnessed the third participant Pike and was given controlled freedom.
Pike’s violence continued behind railings and was sentenced to drown a prisoner who added 25 years to his sentence in 2004.
For about thirty years, the case has passed the process of appeal.

Defense lawyers argued that Pike’s young age, date of abuse, and later bipolar disorder and post -trauma stress disorder should exempt him from execution.
“Christa’s childhood was full of years of physical and sexual abuse and neglect.” He said.
“With time and treatment, he has become a thoughtful woman with deep regret for its crime,” Wednesday.
