From Mediterranean To Caucasus: Why Indian Navy Is Sending Warships Near Turkey; How These Countries Are Helping New Delhi | World News

Ankara/New Delhi: India points to a strategic meter on the regional influence of Türkiye, and decisively proposes in the Eastern Mediterranean and South Caucasus. The movements follow the Sindoor operation when Ankara sends a warship to Karachi to support Pakistan. Since then, Indian sea ships have maintained a close presence in waters close to Türkiye and showed an unprecedented marine strategy.
India’s maritime presence goes beyond the patrol trip. The new Delhi is establishing alliances against Ankara. The Indian Navy strengthened its ties with Türkiye’s neighbors (Greece, Cyprus and Armenia), all of which have long -lived disputes with Ankara. Coordinated exercises and common exercises provide a clear strategic message: the effect of Türkiye is faced with precise planning.

Armenia: A strategic partner in the Caucasus
Armenia, which is located between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, has been relying on India for advanced military systems since 2022. New Delhi provided Akash-1S air defense systems, Pinaka multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, tank rockets and anti-immediately technology.

Greece: Marine Coordination and Strategic Depth

Following the public support to India after the expensive attacks, Greece requested operational guidance on the Rafale fighter aircraft and war data sharing.
In August 2025, Indian Frigate Ins Tamal participated in the Greek navy and Passex exercises. The next month, Ins Trikand realized his first double sea drill with Helen Navy. Exercises, anti -submarine war, night boarding drills and coordinated artillery operations.
Reports show that India can provide long-range land attacks on Greece (1,000-1,500 km) and potentially change the strategic balance in the Aegean.
Cyprus: Strengthening of existence in the Eastern Mediterranean
Cyprus has contradicted Turkey since 1983. In June 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Cyprus, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in 23 years. Modi and President Nikos Christodoulides signed a five -year strategic partnership, including cyber security, anti -terrorist intelligence, anti -trade operations and common maritime exercises.
