Dramatic moment Trump is interrupted during press conference for urgent note on Gaza deal: ‘We need you’

Secretary of State Marco Rubio interrupted Donald Trump’s White House summit to give him an urgent note on the Gaza peace agreement.
“The Secretary of State gave me a note saying we’re very close to a deal in the Middle East and they’re going to need me pretty quickly,” Trump told reporters at a roundtable on Wednesday.
The note Rubio gave Trump was captured on camera while the President was reading the note. It read: ‘So close. You need to approve a post on Truth Social soon so you can announce the deal first.’
The President’s Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, confirmed that Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday for a scheduled check-up and is ‘considering traveling to the Middle East shortly’.
This comes after Trump had previously told the same White House meeting that he was preparing to travel to the Middle East later this week because a peace deal between Israel and Hamas in Gaza was ‘very close’.
‘I might go there towards the end of the week, actually maybe on Sunday. We’ll see, but there’s a very good chance. Trump told reporters that the negotiations were going very well.
As you know, our last negotiation was with Hamas and it seems to be going well. So we’ll let you know, if that’s the case we’ll probably leave on Sunday, maybe on Saturday.’
Trump said he had just spoken by phone with his staff in the Middle East, where his special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner had just joined talks in Egypt.

“‘Peace for the Middle East’ is a very nice phrase, and we hope it happens, but it’s very close and they’re doing very well,” Trump added.
‘We’ve got a great team there, great negotiators and unfortunately great negotiators on the other side as well. But it’s something I think will happen.’
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had previously announced that he had received “encouraging” signs and praised Trump’s support, whose 20-article peace proposal formed the basis of the talks.
Hamas also expressed ‘optimism’ about indirect talks with its enemy Israel.
Trump’s plan calls for a ceasefire, the release of all hostages held in Gaza, the disarmament of Hamas and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from the region.
“Mediators are making great efforts to eliminate all obstacles to the implementation of the ceasefire, and an optimistic spirit prevails among all parties,” senior Hamas official Taher al-Nunu said from the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, where indirect talks between Israel and Hamas began on Monday. he said.
Nunu added that the terrorist organization presented a list of prisoners it wanted to be released in the first phase of the ceasefire “in accordance with the agreed criteria and numbers.”
In return, Hamas will release 47 hostages, living and dead, captured in the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to Israeli officials, 20 people are believed to be alive and there are serious concerns for the health of the other two.
Among the bodies in the hands of the terrorist group is an Israeli soldier killed in the Strip in 2014.
The Palestinian militant group said the talks focused on mechanisms to stop the conflict, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a swap agreement.
But officials from all sides have urged caution about the possibility of a quick deal.

Hamas wants a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces and the immediate start of a comprehensive reconstruction process under the supervision of a Palestinian ‘national technocratic structure’.
Israel wants Hamas to be disarmed, but the group rejects this.
American officials argue that they want to focus the talks primarily on the logistics of stopping the fighting and how to release Israeli hostages in Gaza and Palestinian detainees in Israel.
Once all hostages are returned, Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, as well as 1,700 Gazans detained since October 7, 2023, including all women and children.
The Trump plan says Israel would release the remains of 15 dead Gazans in exchange for every Israeli hostage whose remains are released.
Since the ceasefire could not be achieved, Israel continued its attack on Gaza and increased its international isolation.
According to Hamas-run Gaza officials, approximately 67,000 people lost their lives in Israeli attacks.
This followed the October 7 attack in which 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken as hostages to Gaza.
