The latest hearing into the controversial huge fortune of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur was dramatic and full of scathing attacks from the lawyer of actress Karisma Kapoor’s children.
The Delhi High Court held hearing on the petition of Karisma Kapoor’s children Samaira and Kiaan Kapoor and challenged the alleged will of their late father Sunjay Kapur.
Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani told the Delhi High Court on Thursday that the alleged will prepared by Sunjay Kapur’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapur was a fabricated document prepared to exclude her two children Samaira and Kiaan Kapur and take control of her property.
The lawyer claimed that Sunjay “had no role in his own will.” The lawyer stated that digital evidence and travel records prove that the industrialist was on holiday with his son Kiaan between 15 and 18 March 2025, when the document was allegedly altered.
Mahesh told the court that the will was changed on March 17 at 11.54 am, when Sunjay Kapur was not even in the city. Digital footprints are missing, replaced by the tracks of the conspirators.
Proposing the legal framework for the case, he said, “It is a serious crime under Section 467 of the Indian Penal Code, which prescribes life imprisonment for forgery of a will”.
Mahesh Jethmalani didn’t stop there; We left a comment about Priya saying that she planned to treat Samaira and Kiaan like an “evil Cinderella mother” to sideline them and their grandmother, Rani Kapur, while also consolidating wealth and power in her own household. He accused Priya of maintaining the secrecy of the property, including insisting that family members sign confidentiality agreements before discussing assets.
In the will dated March 21, 2025, it is claimed that all of Sunjay Kapur’s personal assets were transferred to his third wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur. The boys disputed the authenticity of this, saying it was the result of a “criminal conspiracy” between Priya and her friends.
