Hyderabad sought after for GCCs, became home to 40% of centres set up in India in three years: Report

Hyderabad has emerged as a sought-after destination for greenfield global talent centers (GCC), attracting 40% of all such facilities set up in India in three years, Xfeno said in a workforce research report.
Francis Padamadan, CEO (appointed) of specialist staffing firm, said in an interaction on Thursday, October 9, 2025, that 64 of the 160 GCCs established in the last 30 months have been opened in Hyderabad, with a commitment to hire 20,000 employees due to the city’s growing popularity among firms across industries, especially firms in the US.
Bengaluru accounted for 33% of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the same time period. The emergence of Hyderabad highlights Telangana’s strategic importance in the map of national and global talent hubs. The company’s report ‘Telangana: Next Generation GCC Powerhouse’ stated that the state is home to 360 GCCs employing more than 3.1 lakh professionals.
Hyderabad’s foresight triggered growth
“With its vibrant, skilled workforce and progressive infrastructure, the State has become a magnet for global companies seeking sustainable talent ecosystems. Our latest research highlights how Hyderabad’s insight-driven growth, policy support and access to over 47 lakh white-collar professionals have made it a hub of choice,” Kamal Karanth, co-founder of Xfeno, said in a statement.
Factors behind Telangana’s GCC story
There were multiple factors behind Telangana’s GCC story, from a high-quality talent pool, competitive cost advantage and growing reputation as a hub for both technology and non-technology functions. The state’s ability to attract and retain mid- and senior-level talent makes it a long-term strategic choice for global companies. Mr Padamadan said Telangana has emerged as a preferred destination as the new-age Gulf Cooperation Council looks for scale and depth of leadership.
Telangana’s GCC talent pool distribution
As much as 59% (1.82 Lakh) of Telangana’s total GCC talent pool is utilized by the IT/ITeS cohort; BFSI, healthcare and manufacturing are emerging as fast-growing areas. Women make up 33% of the Gulf Cooperation Council workforce, while their leadership rate is 19%. Engineering and IT roles dominate 57% of total GCC employment in the State.
Addressing attrition
“Telangana’s GCC ecosystem has moved beyond its IT roots to become a multi-functional, industry-agnostic powerhouse,” said Mr. Padamadan. For questions on attrition rates in the Gulf Cooperation Council in Hyderabad, he suggested a make, buy and borrow approach to companies. They should form teams by capturing new talents from universities; While the purchasing component is renting from the market; and you can borrow money by partnering with contracted personnel companies.
