KT Rama Rao, working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Telangana minister for IT and Industry, said that the successful hosting of India’s first Formula-E race in Hyderabad in the past symbolizes Telangana’s arrival on the global stage as a hub for innovation, clean mobility and advanced technology.

Speaking as the chief guest of the 10th Fellowship of Mechanical and Automotive Engineers (FMAE) National Student Motor Sports Competition 2025 held in Coimbatore on Saturday, he said that the Formula-E event is not just a show but also a statement of intent. “When the world’s fastest electric cars raced on the streets of Hyderabad, it proved that Telangana is future-ready. The event generated economic activity of nearly Rs 700 crore and attracted international attention to the city’s technological prowess,” he said.

Stating that the Formula-E race is just the beginning of a bigger journey, he said that the foundation has been laid and Hyderabad will soon become the center of India’s Mobility Valley. “Motorsports isn’t just about bikes, cars or speed; it’s about testing limits, pushing boundaries and discovering how far one can go,” he said.

He also shared a message for Generation Z, encouraging the younger generation to seek influence over income, originality over authority, and remain hungry for speed and scale. “You are the ones who will take India forward,” he told the students. He concluded his speech by quoting a recent Formula-1 movie: “Hope is not a strategy. Create your own breaks.”
