Hamas releases Israeli hostages taken during October 7 attacks; Trump addresses Israeli parliament; Palestinian prisoners set to be freed
World leaders, who gathered in Egypt for a summit on post-war Gaza, supported the Middle East “peace agreement” brokered by the United States and President Donald Trump.
Trump came to the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh directly from Israel, where he had previously addressed the parliament, and made statements while important leaders signed a document regarding the agreement.

“This is an incredible day for the world, let alone the Middle East,” Trump said. “It took 3,000 years to get to this point, can you believe it? And it will endure. It will endure.”
The exact terms of the document signed by Trump and other leaders were not immediately published, but it was expected to be very similar to the 20-point Gaza peace plan previously published by the United States.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the agreement together with Trump, who said that they were influential in the creation of the agreement.
Scores of world leaders followed, including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not attend the summit, despite previous reports that he would attend upon Trump’s last-minute request. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has partial control of the West Bank, also attended the meeting.
