Nigel Farage loses it over Keir Starmer’s PMQs attack: ‘Not much point!’ | Politics | News

Nigel Farage erupted at Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) after Sir Keir Starmer attacked him and he failed to respond. The Reform UK leader insisted there was “not much point” in him being in the House of Commons for the session if people are talking about him but he can’t respond.

Mr Farage’s comments came after the Prime Minister accused Reform of being “friends of the Kremlin”. Sir Keir said the Brexiteer had “serious questions to answer” about former Reform Welsh leader Nathan Gill being found guilty of taking pro-Russian bribes.

Speaking during PMQs, Sir Keir said: “Look at the reform. Mr Farage and his deputy worked with someone who was paid to spread Putin’s propaganda.

“Regardless of their denials, they have serious questions to answer about what they know.

“But that’s the choice: the Kremlin making friends with the sewing department or the Labor patriots working for national renewal.”

The Prime Minister added that Labor had introduced an Electoral Bill to “protect our democracy from foreign interference”.

Sir Keir was responding to a question from Derbyshire Dales Labor MP John Whitby, who asked for an update on the bill.

He said: “In light of the recent trials and the conviction of the former leader of Reform in Wales, does he agree that any party whose leaders have received bribes from Russia cannot be trusted to defend our democracy?”

Mr Farage wrote in a post about

During a campaign visit to Caerphilly last Friday, Mr Farage said he was “shocked” by Mr Gill’s admissions.

He said: “Every political party has a bad apple, in fact many families end up with a bad apple, such things happen.

“This is not to belittle the seriousness of this, but it is a historic event.

“You can never, ever 100% guarantee that everyone you meet in your life, everyone you shake hands with at the bar, is a good person.”
