13 Nominations Filed on Wednesday

Hyderabad:BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath on Wednesday filed her maiden nominations for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypolls. He was accompanied by BRS working president KT Rama Rao, among other senior party leaders.

Around 10 am, Sunitha prayed at her home along with her family members before going to the Shaikpet Tahsildar’s office. Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MLAs Padma Rao and Ravula Sridhar Reddy and other BRS leaders accompanied him while submitting his nomination papers to the Returning Officer at the Tahsildar’s office in Shaikpet.

After presenting the first set of articles, Rama Rao spoke to the media. It has been reported that soon Sunitha will file a second nomination.

The by-election for Jubilee Hills constituency was necessitated due to the death of MLA Maganti Gopinath.

The Election Commission published the official gazette notification regarding the by-election on Monday. Nominations will be accepted until October 21, review will take place on October 22, and withdrawal of candidates will be allowed until October 24. Voting will be held on November 11, and the counting of votes will be done on November 14.

A total of 13 nominations were filed by 10 candidates, including BRS candidate Sunitha, on Wednesday. Apart from that, most of the nominations were submitted by independent candidates.

The Election Commission has issued orders banning the conduct and publication of exit polls for the Jubilee Hills by-election. The ban will remain in effect from November 6 to November 11 and applies to all media platforms, including print, electronic and social media.
