‘I Do Understand Pakistan Attacked…’: Donald Trump Weighs In On Pakistan-Afghanistan Conflict, Says It’s ‘Easy’ For Him To Solve | World News

US President Donald Trump on Friday (local time) reiterated his repeated claim that he has “solved” eight global conflicts, including the conflict between India and Pakistan. Speaking about the ongoing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, he said that it would be an “easy problem” for him to solve.

During a bilateral lunch with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, Trump praised him for calming tensions between India and Pakistan, two nuclear-armed countries.

“I’ve solved eight wars. Go to Rwanda and Congo, talk about India and Pakistan. Look at all the wars we’ve solved, and every time I solve them, they say, if you solve the next one, you get the Nobel Prize. I didn’t get the Nobel Prize. Someone who was a very good woman got it. I don’t know who she was, but she was very generous. I don’t care about all that. I just care about saving lives. But this will happen. Number nine… So as far as I know.” We have never had a president who solved a war. It’s not a single war. Bush started a war… But I saved tens of millions of lives,” Trump said.

“The Prime Minister of Pakistan said: I saved millions of lives… Look at Pakistan and India for example. That would be a bad thing… Although I understand that Pakistan attacked or there was an attack on Afghanistan. That’s an easy problem for me to solve if I have to solve it. By the way, I have to run the United States, but I like to solve wars. You know why? I love to prevent people from being killed, and I’ve saved millions and millions of lives,” the US President added.

Pakistan-Afghanistan Conflict

At least eight people were killed and scores injured in a series of Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan’s southeastern Pktika province; this marked a violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday expressed regret over reports that three Afghan cricketers were killed in a Pakistani airstrike in Pktika province and announced its withdrawal from the upcoming Tri-Nation T20I series involving Pakistan.

According to ANI, the panel also confirmed that the players, identified as Kabeer, Sibghatullah and Haroon, were among the eight people killed in the airstrike in Urgun district.

India-Pakistan Conflict 2025

Trump’s comments on the India-Pakistan conflict refer to the escalation in May following Operation Sindoor, a series of precision strikes by the Indian Armed Forces against Pakistan and nine terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). It was launched to avenge the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, in which 26 people lost their lives.

Trump has repeatedly claimed a key role in helping ease tensions between India and Pakistan on the grounds that trade and tariffs are effective.

However, India has consistently rejected Trump’s claims of mediation and reiterated its long-standing position that any issues related to Pakistan, including those related to Jammu and Kashmir, should be resolved bilaterally between the two countries.
