Rain lashed parts of Delhi in the early hours of today, adding to the rain in the national capital and providing much-needed relief to residents from the recent wet conditions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an “Orange Alert” for the capital, signaling heavy rains in the region for most of the day.

Continuous rain has led to light waterlogging in some parts of the city, including New Delhi Railway Station, Munirka and other parts.

According to IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is expected in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh till July 10. A fresh spell of rain is expected to continue in northeastern Uttar Pradesh until July 13, while similar activity is expected to be seen in Eastern Rajasthan on July 9.
