Bengaluru: 35-year-old woman murdered, body dumped in abandoned autorickshaw

A 35-year-old woman was allegedly bludgeoned to death by her boyfriend, who dumped her body in an abandoned car, at Tilak Nagar in Bengaluru on Friday (October 24), a few meters away from the police station.
The murder came to light on Saturday evening when several passersby noticed the body and informed the police. The police took the body to another location for autopsy.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the deceased, identified as Salma, a widow living with her four children, worked as a housekeeper.
According to preliminary investigation, the woman was in a relationship with Subramani, a garment factory employee. Salma’s children reportedly spotted her leaving with Subramani late at night on Friday. This helped the police focus on the accused.
Police also verified CCTV footage from the spot and found that the duo had an argument over an issue and then Subramani attacked him with a blunt weapon.
The blow killed him instantly, after which Subramani reportedly sought help from his friend Senthil, a daily wage labourer, to wrap the body in a cloth and throw it into an abandoned car before fleeing from there. The police collected CCTV footage to corroborate the evidence obtained.
Senior police officials have launched an operation to catch Subramani and Senthil, who are currently on the run.
