Porsche recalls over 3,000 vehicles in Canada across several models over safety issues which can lead to crash; check list of affected models and what you can do if yours is on the list

German automaker Porsche will recall more than 3,211 vehicles in Canada due to safety concerns, Transport Canada said in a notice. This latest recall follows Transport Canada recall No. 1, which was first issued in May 2023, according to CTV News. Replaces 2023-313.

What did Transport Canada’s announcement say about the Porsche recall?

According to the notice, this is an automotive recall for cars and SUVs. “In some vehicles, the high-voltage electric heater may malfunction. In such a case, you may experience reduced cabin temperature and the windshield defrosting system may not work properly,” the statement reads.
It also said, “An inoperative windshield defroster can cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash.”

Affected model years of Porsche:

The Transport Canada recall notice listed several models to be recalled. These models are: Porsche Taycan, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Turbo, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, Porsche Turbo, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

How will Porsche inform users?

Porsche will notify vehicle owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger compartment high-voltage electric heater replaced with an improved part. The notice stated that the automaker would first install a new heater of the same design as a temporary solution for certain vehicles.
In such cases, after the final repair is completed, the German automaker will contact vehicle owners again by mail to have the upgraded part installed.
