Prince Andrew is thought to remain at the Royal Lodge despite publicly announcing he will no longer use his royal titles. The 65-year-old released a statement explaining that the decision came after “persistent accusations” that he was “distracting” the Royal Family.
Speculation then grew as to whether Andrew would stay at Royal Lodge, a Grade II-listed house in Windsor Great Park, which has been his home since 2003. Although King Charles is believed to have been encouraging his brother to downsize to another royal house over the past few years, even making changes to his security to make it happen, Andrew has reportedly refused to budge on it.
Here the Express looks at seven homes Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson could move into if they leave Royal Lodge.

If Andrew and Sarah were to venture further afield, Castle of Mey near John O’Groats in Caithness would be the perfect location.
The house was purchased by the late Queen Mother in 1952. He later restored it and used the castle as a summer retreat.
After the death of the late Queen Mother in 2002, the Mey Trust’s Queen Elizabeth Castle opened the Castle to visitors for five months each summer. A visitor center was opened in 2007 and in 2019 Mey Trust Castle was incorporated into the King Charles Trust.
The trust is now responsible for managing tourism and bed and breakfast on the castle grounds.

Andrew may move into one of the estates owned by King Charles near Zalanpatak and Viscri in Transylvania, Romania.
King Charles bought his first property in Transylvania in 2006. This was an 18th-century Saxon house in the village of Viscri, and he also bought a house in the village of Zalanpatak in 2010.
The king uses these properties as private retreats and rents them out to tourists when he is not residing. Income from the rentals supports his foundation in Romania.
Because of Andrew’s love of horses, he would have plenty to keep him busy if he lived there.

Andrew and Sarah may also reside at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
The house was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s previous base in England and the first home for their son Archie.
Daily Mail had previously revealed that the King had offered Andrew the option of Frogmore Cottage.
A more modest property than the Royal Lodge, Andrew reportedly saw this as too much of a “demotion”.
Wood Farm, Sandringham

Wood Farm is a farmhouse on the Royal Family’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. It is known as one of the “normal” houses owned by the Royal Family.
The five-bedroom property was owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II. It became a favorite retreat of Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
It was also where Philip resided full-time for almost three years before he was forced to move to Windsor Castle. This was due to the Covid pandemic, which forced the courtiers to move.

Norfolk also includes the Garden House, once the home of the late Queen’s head gardener at Sandringham.
Previously featured on AirBnb, the house has been described as a “charming hideaway” that belonged to the late Queen.
The list also stated: “[it is] Located at the heart of the much-loved Sandringham Estate country retreat and the closest property to Sandringham House… As well as the formal walled garden with wonderful stocked beds and property borders, there is a more informal garden where you can relax and where children and dogs can safely run and play.”
Previously the rental fee was £237 and £354 per night.

The King and Queen always spend several weeks a year at their secluded three-bedroom farmhouse on the Llwynywermod estate in Carmarthenshire.
As well as purchasing the £1.2 million property in 2007, it also came with two rentable cottages. Depending on the time of year, the North Range and West Range cost between £1,400 and £2,400 per week.
According to the Llwynywermod website: “Set within a courtyard adjacent to the Welsh royal residence Llwynywermod, North Range is a charming barn conversion that can be used for occasional holidays.
“North Range forms part of a courtyard attached to Llwynywermod Farmhouse and is beautifully appointed to suit the style of the property, with a mix of period and contemporary furnishings, including many Welsh pieces and local fabrics.”

The Royal Family has a variety of small country houses for rent in different parts of the United Kingdom, including Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Many of these belong to the Duchy of Cornwall, currently held by Prince William as Prince of Wales.
Princess Kate’s family paid then-Prince Charles £3,000 to reside at Restormel for Christmas before she married Prince William.
The 500-year-old mansion has a heated swimming pool, tennis courts and nine bedrooms.
