The road to success is not easy; preparation must be rigorous: DCP Harsha Priyamvada

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Harsha Priyamvada on Thursday encouraged competitive exam aspirants not to be discouraged by failure and continue striving towards their goals.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of K-SET and UGC-NET coaching camp organized by Competitive Examination Training Center of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).

Addressing the students, Dr. Harsha Priyamvada said that the path to success is never easy and advised aspirants to define their career goals even before completing their diploma courses. He appealed to candidates who may not be successful in their first attempt to remain determined and continue their preparations with more focus.

Recalling his own journey, he said his parents, who are both doctors, hoped he would pursue a career in medicine. However, his interest in competitive exams led him to prepare for the UPSC exam.

Noting that competitive exams can change lives, he advised students to regularly read newspapers and standard reference books along with academic texts.

He also appealed to students to expand their knowledge beyond textbooks and devote time to books on competitive exams.

Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya, who has published a study guide titled Mukta Bhandara During the program, he said such boot camps serve as an excellent platform for comprehensive interdisciplinary learning and help students develop their personality and self-confidence and gain a deeper understanding of social issues.

KSOU Vice-Chancellor Sharanappa V. Halse, who presided over the event, advised the students to set ambitious goals in life and pursue them with determination.

Registrar CS Anandkumar, Finance Officer Niranjan Raj, program coordinator Jainahalli Satyanarayana Gowda and others were present.
