Ward-level special meetings to address civic grievances across Villupuram district from October 27 to 29

VILLUPURAM

Special meetings will be held at the district level to address civil grievances in Villupuram district from October 27 to 29. Local bodies, including Municipalities and Town Panchayats, will host these meetings within their limits.

Each session will be chaired by the ward councilor and coordinated by a City official. Residents, welfare society representatives and volunteers are encouraged to attend.

According to the statement made by the district administration, the meetings aim to review and improve basic services such as drinking water supply, solid waste management, street lighting maintenance, roads, parks and rainwater drainage.

Participants can highlight deficiencies and submit their demands with three priority proposals from each ward selected for implementation.

Discussions will focus on urban greening, park maintenance and sewer cleaning, as well as improving basic civil services, including drinking water supply, waste management, street lights, roads, parks and stormwater drains. Other topics include school infrastructure, the Prime Minister’s Breakfast Programme, rainwater harvesting and protecting local water supplies.

Collector Sheikh Abdul Rahman urged residents to attend neighborhood meetings, discuss civic priorities and submit three key demands for implementation.
