Monash staff leak, demand university save key institute, MSDI

Staff at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI) are “strongly opposed” to the institute’s planned scrapping, saying it would go against the university’s stated objectives and risk its position as a global leader in sustainability.

A submission written on behalf of the majority of MSDI staff and submitted to the university earlier this month calls on Monash to rethink the plan.

“MSDI’s cohesive structure, daily collaboration across disciplines and faculties, and shared operational systems make it a practical mechanism to support achieving the university’s sustainability goals,” the leaked application reads. Crikey.
