Oasis frontman unleashes after flares thrown into crowd

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher attacked a fan who threw a flare at the band’s sold-out debut concert in Australia.
More than 55,000 fans packed Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Friday for the first show of the reunited band’s Australian tour, which kicked off with a thrilling performance of Hello from their blockbuster 1995 album.
But Gallagher appeared unhappy when a flare was fired into the crowd from the general admission area while the band was performing their hit Champagne Supernova.
The footage shows the flare being lit and handed to another man; so he throws it overhead, arcing towards the crowd while it’s still burning.
Moments later, Gallagher addressed the incident on stage, saying “it’s naughty, naughty, naughty” before making a statement on social media.
“You are truly a terrible individual and trust me, you will get yours,” X said on his account.
A Victoria Police spokesman told AAP no arrests had been made at Marvel Stadium on Friday, adding that the venue had not officially reported the incident.
The incident follows a similar incident in Sheffield, England, where a fan was burned by flames during the frontman’s concert in 2019.
Oasis last performed in Australia as part of their Don’t Believe the Truth Tour in late 2005.
The Australian leg of the tour includes two more shows at Marvel Stadium on Saturday and Tuesday.
Oasis will then travel to Sydney to play Accor Stadium on 7 and 8 November.
Marvel Stadium has been contacted for comment.
