The Toronto Blue Jays will have a chance to make history when they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday night.

The game, which can be seen on FOX at 8 p.m., could mark the end of an epic transformation for Toronto. The Blue Jays finished the 2024 season in last place in the American League East standings and failed to qualify for the playoffs with a record of 74-88. This season, Toronto won the league title for the first time since 2015 and can join an exclusive club with a World Series win.

According to MLB Network, Toronto could become the last-place champion, joining the 1991 Minnesota Twins and the 2013 Boston Red Sox. The Twins finished last in the AL West in 1990 before Jack Morris’ heroic Game 7 gave them the World Series victory over the Atlanta Braves in 1991. The 2012 Red Sox defeated St. Louis in six games to win the 2013 World Series. They were last in the AL East before edging out the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Blue Jays are looking to celebrate their first World Series since 1993 by beating the Dodgers. Max Scherzer, in what is likely the final start of his illustrious career, will have a chance to start Game 7. He’s tackling Shohei Ohtani, who the Dodgers have selected for the marquee matchup.

Toronto lost Game 6, 3-1, and the Dodgers were able to make a tremendous double play to end the game in the bottom of the ninth, despite threats from the Blue Jays.

Scherzer went 5-5 with a 5.19 ERA in 17 games this season.
