“In Balochistan, oppression has become an instrument of policy,” he said, emphasizing that women, in particular, have become new targets of violence and intimidation by forces operating with absolute impunity.

He stated that systematic abductions, disappearances and torture have become a brutal norm in Balochistan without any accountability or control.

Victims’ families are often left in despair, denied justice, and silenced by fear. Nazia Shafi’s tragic death has once again highlighted the urgent need for international attention to what activists call a deepening human rights crisis. Sammi Deen Baloch also called on global human rights organizations and women’s rights movements to end their silence on the issue and raise the voices of Baloch women facing systemic violence and oppression.

The case of Nazia Shafi and her mother has reignited debate about the situation of women in conflict zones, where abuse and impunity continue under the guise of security operations. Justice for the Nazis would be an important step towards ending state-led violence against Baloch women and restoring faith in basic human dignity and justice.
