recently NBC News questionnaire showed Growing frustration among Americans with the way President Donald Trump is handling the economy less than a year after taking office.
In the survey conducted with the participation of 1000 voters between October 25-28, 63 percent of voters said that Trump fell behind expectations regarding the economy.
Separately, 65 percent said Trump has failed to take care of the middle class, while 66 percent said the same about managing inflation and the cost of living.
Trump’s overall approval rating in the poll has fallen 4 points since March to 43%, while 55% disapprove of the president’s job performance.
This negativity also appears to be reflected in voters’ dissatisfaction with Republican lawmakers. With just a year until the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats are expected to take control of Congress by an 8-point margin, 50 percent to 42 percent, among those polled. In the March poll, Democrats were ahead by just one point, 48% to 47%.
The results come as the government shutdown lasted more than a month and affected critical government programs, including SNAP food benefits.
The NBC News poll also showed voters are split on which party will better manage the economy.
According to the survey, 38 percent of voters think Republicans will do a better job, while 37 percent think Democrats will be more effective.
This follows the recent CNBC All-America Economic Survey, which showed that views on the US economy have become more negative.
