Tri-Services Exercise Trishul to Commence on Monday

New Delhi: The tri-service exercise ‘Trishul’, conducted by the Indian Navy as a spearhead service, will begin on Monday. The Western Naval Command, in close coordination with the Army and the IAF, will conduct the exercise, which will include comprehensive naval operations, including amphibious operations in the North Arabian Sea, as well as large-scale operations in the creek and desert parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Southern Army Command, Western Naval Command and South Western Air Command are participating in the exercise, which covers the Gujarat coast and the northern Arabian Sea; Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force and other central agencies are also participating in large numbers, further strengthening inter-agency coordination and integrated operations.
The exercise aims to enable joint effect operations in a multi-domain environment by ensuring operational procedures are verified and synchronized across the three services. Key objectives include increasing the interoperability of platforms and infrastructure, strengthening the integration of networks across services, and improving partnership across operations across multiple domains.
One of the key focuses of the exercise is also to enhance synergy between all forces and validate multi-domain integrated operations in a large and complex operational environment that includes large-scale deployment of Indian Navy warships, Indian Air Force warships and support aircraft, as well as amphibious operations involving the amphibious component of the Indian Army and Indian Navy, including Landing Platform Dock INS Jalashwa and Landing Craft Service ships (LCUs).
The exercise will also validate joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW) and Cyber Warfare plans. The exercise will involve Indian Navy aircraft carrier operations conducted in partnership with Indian Air Force’s shore-based assets.
The exercise will highlight the effective use of indigenous systems and demonstrate imbibing of the principles of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
It will also focus on the development of procedures and techniques designed to respond to emerging threats and the evolving character of contemporary and future warfare.
