Instead of being embarrassed, the ruling NDA alliance openly supported dictator Anant Singh, who was arrested after the murder of Jan Suraj Party’s Dularchand Yadav in Mokama. Union Minister and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, batting for the man who has served jail time and is still facing trial in several criminal cases, said the NDA will not let Mokama feel the absence of Anant Singh. Addressing a meeting in Mokama, Lalan Singh said, “We will not let the people of Mokama feel the absence of Anant Singh.” “Does the language used belong to the society? Such words are only said by those who want to cause unrest.”

Even though Bihar witnessed a spate of murders just before the 2025 Bihar Election, Lalan Singh said law and order in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ensured impartial investigations. He said, “We are confident that the police will conduct a fair investigation and unravel those behind this conspiracy. The truth will come out under the rule of law of Nitish Kumar.” Urging voters to support the NDA, Singh said, “On November 6, every vote should go to Anant Singh so that the people of Mokama can prove that no conspiracy will succeed in this land.” Targeting RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, he said, “When Tejashwi Yadav gained consciousness, both his father and mother were corrupt and there was huge corruption during their tenure.”
Dularchand Yadav murder case
It is interesting to note that Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar said that as per the autopsy report, Dularchand Yadav’s death occurred due to cardiac and respiratory failure and not due to gunshot wound. He explained that there was a bullet mark on the deceased’s leg, but this was not the cause of death. “An FIR was filed in this regard and a detailed autopsy, including videographic documents, was conducted. Bullet marks were found on the deceased’s leg, but this was not the cause of death. The main cause was determined to be heart and respiratory failure.”
Mokama Assembly chair
Mokama, which will vote in the first phase on November 6, will witness a high-voltage electoral contest in the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 polls. While the ruling Janata Dal (United) has nominated dictator Anant Singh, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has nominated Veena Devi, former MP and wife of influential leader Surajbhan Singh. Priyadarshi Piyush from Jan Suraaj Party is contesting. Voting for Bihar’s 243-seat Assembly will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11. The counting of votes will be done on November 14.
