The Untold Story Of Adarsh Behera’s An Indian Man Kidnapped In Sudan, Shocking Abduction | World News
Sudan: A 36-year-old Indian man, identified as Adarsh Behera, was reportedly abducted in Al Fashir by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) amid the ongoing civil war ravaging the country. Sudan’s Ambassador to India Mohammed Abdalla Ali Eltom said efforts were continuing to ensure the safe release of Behera.
Al-Fashir, which recently fell to the RSF after an 18-month siege, was the army’s last remaining stronghold in the Darfur region. Sources told PTI that Behera may have been taken to Nyala, another RSF-controlled area in South Darfur.
Originally from Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district, Behera had moved to Sudan three years ago to work at Sukarati Plastic Factory. Speaking to NDTV, his wife said that the couple has two young sons, aged eight and three.

A video shared by the publication showed Behera sitting between two RSF soldiers and one of them asked him, “Do you know Shah Rukh Khan?” he was seen asking. It’s a chilling reminder of how unpredictable the situation in the war-torn nation has become.

Sudanese Ambassador Assures Efforts Will Be Made to Release Kidnapped Indian
Sudan’s Ambassador to India Mohammed Abdalla Ali Eltom assured ANI that his government was making efforts to ensure the safe return of Adarsh Behera.
Speaking to ANI, Ambassador Eltom said, “We have seen reports of an Indian citizen being abducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) but we are not in a position to confirm such reports. We pray that they keep him safe.”
He further added: “These militias are notorious for the atrocities they can commit, but we hope that they will make sure that he is safe and sound. We as a government are ready to play any role to ensure his safe return to India and will cooperate with the Indian authorities. We will offer everything we can to ensure his safe return to India.”

Sudan War So Far
According to BBC Reports, more than 150,000 people have died in conflict across the country and nearly 12 million have fled their homes in what the United Nations has called the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
The conflict broke out in April 2023 following a violent power struggle between Sudan’s military leadership and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
