McDonald’s It is expected to report third-quarter earnings before the bell on Wednesday.
Here’s what Wall Street analysts surveyed by LSEG expect the company to report:
- Earnings per share: $3.33 expected
- Revenue: $7.1 billion expected
The fast food giant, often seen as a bellwether for consumers’ financial health, has spent more than a year sounding the alarm about a pullback in spending among low-income customers. But Wall Street predicts McDonald’s will report same-store sales growth for the second quarter in a row, showing that its value strategy is attracting customers.
Starting the third quarter, McDonald’s Snack Wraps returned to the menus for the first time in nine years. The chain brought back Extra Value Meals, which it last introduced before the Covid-19 outbreak, in September.
Analysts predict McDonald’s will report 3.5% growth in global same-store sales, according to StreetAccount estimates. Wall Street expects the burger chain’s international markets to outperform the U.S., where same-store sales are forecast to rise 1.9%.
McDonald’s shares are up just 3% this year as investors’ concerns about the restaurant industry and the broader economy weigh on shares. The company’s market value is more than $212 billion.
