M4 traffic LIVE: Motorway closed in both directions in Wales sparking long delays | UK | News

Motorists on the M4 are trapped in long queues and the road is closed in both directions due to urgent repairs. The busy motorway is closed eastbound in Wales between J38 at Margam and J37 at Pyle. The road was closed just after midnight and the westbound on J37 was also closed shortly after 2.30pm.

It is currently unknown when this section of the M4 will reopen and traffic is being diverted to the A48 at Pyle. A South Wales Police spokesman said: “The closure will continue during daylight hours, there is no known timetable for the reopening of the carriageway. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We appreciate your patience.”
