Meghan Markle makes shocking return to acting with huge film after quitting Hollywood | Royal | News

Meghan Markle made a shock return to Hollywood, filming Close Personal Friends in Pasadena, Los Angeles, and portraying herself on set at Amazon MGM Studios. The Duchess of Sussex is said to be filming in Close Personal Friends alongside Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid’s son Jack Quaid and Brit Henry Golding.
Sources say the duchess has been “inundated with offers” since quitting acting eight years ago and marrying into the Royal Family. Meghan’s husband, the Duke of Sussex, is reportedly extremely supportive of her decision to return to the big screen. A studio source told The: Sun: “This is a huge moment for Meghan and means getting back to doing what she truly loves.
“She was inundated with offers but this felt right. It’s Meghan’s way of slowly dipping her toe in the water and seeing how much she enjoys being back on set.”
“Everyone involved is very excited and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is of course really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do anything that brings her joy.”
Meghan previously opened up about whether she misses acting. She spoke on Emma Grede’s podcast over the summer and said she misses it “sometimes.”
The Duchess explained: “But you know what, actually having a big team, being on set with Meghan’s With Love again was great because I realized how much I missed my team. I love being with a team.”
The Duchess of Sussex played the role of Rachel Zane in seven seasons of the hugely successful Netflix show, which ran from 2011 to 2019.
However, they split in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry and moving to the United Kingdom.
Meghan’s latest film in Hollywood centers around two couples, one famous, the other not, who meet in Santa Barbara and become fast friends.
The film is directed by Jason Orley, who also wrote the screenplay with Isaac Aptaker.
The Duchess of Sussex has been contacted for comment.
