King officially strips Andrew of prince title

King III. Charles officially stripped his brother Andrew Mountbatten of Windsor of his HRH style and title of prince.
A new entry in England’s official public records shows the change has officially come into force after being announced last week.
The king made the changes after weeks of intense scrutiny over the former prince’s links to pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The record also confirmed his previously announced removal from the Peerage List as Duke of York.
The article published in The Gazette, the official public register of the United Kingdom, reads as follows:
“The King is pleased to declare by Letters Patent under the Great Realm Seal dated 3 November 2025 that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will no longer be entitled to bear the style, title or qualification of ‘His Royal Highness’ and the title of ‘Prince’.”
The Great Seal of the Realm refers to the wax seal and is used by the Crown to signify the monarch’s approval of important State documents.
Buckingham Palace said last week: Andrew was due to leave his home in Windsor at the Royal Lodge as his ties to Epstein continued to cause controversy.
It was understood that the King did not object to the decision to remove his titles.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (now known) gave up his other royal titles, including Duke of York, in October following further questions and allegations about his private life.
At the beginning of this year, emails showed they stayed in touch She was with Epstein for longer than she had previously admitted.
Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s leading accusers, repeated allegations in her memoir, published posthumously last month, that she had sex with Andrew on three separate occasions as a teenager. Andrew has always vehemently denied the allegations.
