FBI investigating death of passenger aboard Carnival cruise ship

The FBI is launching an investigation into the death of a passenger aboard the Carnival cruise ship that recently returned to Florida.
Carnival Cruise Line confirmed to Fox News Digital that it is working with FBI Miami in the investigation into the death of a Carnival Horizon guest.
“I can confirm that the FBI responded to the scene,” an FBI Miami spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “As this is an ongoing issue, no further information is available at this time.”
Authorities have not confirmed the nature of the investigation or the cause and date of death.

The identity of the deceased passenger has not yet been determined.
The ship returned to PortMiami Saturday morning as planned, according to Carnival communications officer Chris Chiames.

“Our focus is on supporting our guest’s family and cooperating with the FBI,” Chiames said in a statement. he wrote.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office declined Fox News Digital’s request for comment and referred inquiries to the FBI.
