Error mars Manipur civil services mains as wrong paper handed out

Candidates at both Imphal and Guwahati examination centers were mistakenly given the General Studies (GS) Paper-IV question paper prepared for Paper-III during the morning session.
Terming the confusion as a “technical issue”, Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) immediately canceled both GS Paper-III and Paper-IV.
In a notification published later in the day, the commission said the new dates for the canceled exams were set as November 22.
As per the revised schedule, Paper-IV (General Studies-III) will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, followed by Paper-V (General Studies-IV) from 13:30 to 16:30.
“Exam venues will remain the same and previous e-Admit Cards will remain valid for rescheduled documents as well,” the commission said. The Commission said this was due to the secure printing press: “When the sealed cover was opened just before the commencement of the examination, it was discovered that there was a mismatch between the title of the Question Paper for Paper IV (General Studies-III) and the contents inside due to an error on the part of the Secure Printing House,” read a statement from Kh Lalmani Singh, Controller of Examinations, MPSC.
The mistake sparked outrage among candidates who accused the MPSC of negligence and lack of coordination.
The exam, which was held simultaneously at the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Office and Imphal Center in Guwahati, saw 199 candidates appear from the Guwahati venue alone.
